Three facts before you start
Israelis are visa-free for up to 90 days; passport must be valid for the duration of the stay.
El Al flies direct Tel Aviv–Tokyo (Narita) up to 4 times a week, about 11 hours; one-stop connections via European or Gulf hubs are also common.
Spring (late Mar–Apr) for cherry blossom and autumn (Oct–Nov) for fall colour; the June–July rainy season and humid peak summer are less ideal.
